About Me:

As a child, I was intrigued by the detail in Leonard de Vinci’s drawings, and later by Constable’s tree sketches. I’m influenced by Modern Scottish Colourists, thanks to my grandmother’s involvement with the Bongate Gallery, Alnwick. I’ve developed mainly as a colourist, attracted to elements of landscape: trees, water and ruined castles, working in a variety of media. My paintings capture the tension between intimacy of detail and the broad sweep of landscape and sky.

I have sketched and painted all my life, and have run a number of workshops, art demonstrations and short courses including teaching through Frome Community Education and Trowbridge Town Hall Arts.

My work has been exhibited at a number of galleries including Melbourne & Hobart, Australia, The Mall, BSA, RWA, Southampton Art Gallery, Presteign, Broadway, First View at Stourhead, Bruton Art Works, Ace Arts in Somerton and the Black Swan Art Centre, Frome.

I am a member of Artists 303, Events co-ordinator for the Frome Art Trail 2021. Chair of the Black Swan Guild 2019.
