Arkadiuz Nowicki
When Arkadiuz first approached Coastal Gallery, Bev and Stewart could hardly believe their eyes — exuberant, larger‑than‑life jugs and vessels in rich, earthy tones emerged from the bubble wrap, each one bursting with character, energy and sculptural presence.
Born in Poland, Arkadiuz now lives and works in the New Forest. He creates his vessels from white stoneware clay, chosen for its strength and resilience. His ambition is to make unique pieces that will endure — artworks he can “leave behind in the world” for future generations.
These spectacular vessels command attention through their scale, dynamism and the way they interact with the space around them. Each form is hand‑built, then finished with crystalline glazes that create layers of texture and striking colour contrasts. Inspired by nature, Arkadiuz works with deep blues, ochres, greens and greys, allowing the glazes to flow and settle into fluid, organic patterns that become artworks in their own right.
His aim is to challenge conventional ideas of what a jug or vase can be:
“My pieces are not still or inanimate. They are made from the earth and grow from it.”
Coastal Gallery is proud to feature Arkadiuz’s extraordinary work. Please contact us for details and prices.
