Chris Whittaker

Chris Whittaker spent many years as Creative Director at a leading London advertising agency before relocating to Lymington to pursue painting full time — a move he jokingly describes as his first step toward “doing a proper day’s work.”

Drawn to the overlooked details of the natural world, Chris paints foliage and what he calls “the chaotic, messy bits of nature — the parts people walk past without noticing.” Working in oils and at life size, he brings meticulous precision and a wonderfully idiosyncratic perspective to each piece.

Chris has exhibited widely in London, including at the Brick Lane Gallery, the New English Art Club, Jozes London 2011, and the Mall Galleries, where he received the prestigious Company of Painters and Stainers Award. Regionally, his work has been shown at St Barbe Museum in Lymington, the National Open Exhibition in Chichester, and Art in the Park in South Yorkshire.

His paintings are held in collections across the UK and internationally, including Berlin, Geneva, Italy, Jersey, London, New Zealand and the USA.
