Ingrid Stirling
Ingrid Sterling is originally from South Africa and began studying sculpture after moving to London in the 1990s.
Her sculptures are bold, questioning and instantly recognisable, each piece possessing its own distinctive character. A fascination with the human form lies at the heart of Ingrid’s practice. When exploring the female figure, she often works in bronze, using the medium’s fluidity to capture movement and grace. In contrast, her depictions of the male form employ stainless steel and flashes of strong, assertive colour to convey a more muscular energy.
Ingrid’s work is held in collections across Australia, the USA, South Africa and the UK, including London. Coastal Gallery is privileged to feature her powerful and expressive sculptures.
