Julie Collins

Julie Collins moved to Milford on Sea in 2014 and draws constant inspiration from the Hampshire coastline, translating its shifting moods into what she describes as “abstractions of reality.” She is fascinated by the feel of the landscape and always works in series, allowing her studio to evolve into a three‑dimensional sketchbook filled with ideas, experiments and works in progress. Using water‑based paints, Julie builds intricate layers over time, creating pieces rich in depth, atmosphere and quiet complexity.

Alongside these evocative abstractions, Julie also enjoys creating lively line drawings that she develops into contemporary prints — works that immediately caught our eye for their freshness and clarity.

Julie exhibits widely throughout the UK, regularly showing at prestigious venues including the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI), the Royal Watercolour Society and the Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. Her paintings have received numerous awards, and were selected and shown in London by the distinguished art critic Brian Sewell.
