Martyn Brewster

Martyn Brewster is recognised as one of the UK’s leading abstract painters and printmakers. After studying at Hertfordshire and Brighton Colleges of Art, he completed his MA in 1975 and has since exhibited widely across the UK, France, Spain and the USA. His work is held in numerous public and private collections worldwide, and in 1997 he was the subject of a major touring retrospective launched at the Russell Cotes Gallery in Bournemouth. 

Based in Dorset, Martyn draws inspiration from the sea and coastal landscape, creating drawings, paintings and prints that explore colour, light and place. Through dynamic layers of vivid blues, oranges and reds, he captures the shifting mood and atmosphere of the coastline with striking emotional clarity.
