Michael Turner

After graduating from Buckinghamshire College of Art with a BA (Hons) in Three‑Dimensional Design, Michael Turner began exploring welding and metalworking techniques - a direction that soon shaped his signature style. Today, he works predominantly in stainless steel, a material he values for its strength, versatility, and enduring finish. 

From his studio near Lymington, Michael draws inspiration from the natural world, creating pieces that range from jewel‑like beetles to powerful, larger‑than‑life horses and lions. Each sculpture is individually crafted using a combination of polished surfaces, painted details, and heat‑treated colour effects that bring the steel to life. 

Michael Turner’s work is exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Terminal Five Gallery at Heathrow Airport. Coastal Gallery is proud to showcase a selection of his sculptures and can arrange commissions in collaboration with the artist.
